#5: 3.5mm Stereo Plug to Stereo Plug 1.2 Mtrs Gold

However, when I used it for the first couple of days it was OK, the sound quality was OK with minimal interference, yet after a couple of times using it, plastic coating rode up and showed the insides of the cable itself. Then it frayed which affected the sound quality even more until it was so frayed that I could not listen to it anymore, I tried to keep it together with sellotape but failed (I am not very technical!). Therefore this item did disappoint me, especially seeing as though the service was very professional; it may just be my cable as there are many good reviews of it but, to me, the cables were not hugely substantial. Oh, and I did not mistreat the cable in anyway, nor was I clumsy, I have no idea how the plastic coating rode up.

Therefore, excellent service, unlucky/poor quality

The cable for my headphones had broken so I was seeking out a new cable to connect my MP3 player to them and at a price less than a pound, I felt I may as well give this cable a try. It's not anywhere near as attractive as the original cable and is very cumbersome - probably not really meant for this purpose, however it fit and works and until I can get hold of a new Audio Chi headphone cable at a reasonable price, this will do the job.
Good if you're skint, bad if aesthetics are your main issue.

Being an Apple product asssured me of the quality and now that iv'e used it for a while i find the design to be exeptional. The fact that you use your own Apple supplied USB lead and connect it to the plug is really handy and it makes storage a breeze. This is a first class product at a fair price and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

#6: Apple iPod touch 8GB - 4th Generation (Launched Sept 2010)

Video calling is in full effect on iPod touch. Now your friends can see what you're up to, when you're up to it. With the tap of a button, you can wave "hi" while standing in a foreign country, get a second opinion on a pair of boots, or have your friends bear witness to the everyday pranks, bets and dares they otherwise might have missed - new iPod touch to new iPod touch or iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And come face-to-face with even more fun.

diagram of facetime FaceTime brings video calling to iPod touchTap for a more instant, instant message.

Take "LOL" to the next level and actually see friends laughing. Or bring "XOXO" to life when you blow someone a kiss from miles away. FaceTime on iPod touch makes it possible. FaceTime works right out of the box - just enter your Apple ID and email address. Or create a new email account just for FaceTime. Using FaceTime is as easy as it gets. Say you want to start a video call with your best friend over Wi-Fi. Just tap the FaceTime app and find her entry to start the call. An invitation pops up on her iPod touch or iPhone 4 screen asking if she wants to join you. When she accepts, FaceTime begins. It's all perfectly seamless. And it works in both portrait and landscape. See how much fun you can have.

Two cameras make either side its fun side.

iPod touch has two built-in cameras, one on the front above the display and one on the back. The front camera has been tuned for FaceTime. It has just the right field of view and focal length to focus on your face at arm's length. So it always presents you in the best possible light. Which is particularly handy when you're talking to someone who's more than just a friend.

The back camera-- see and share.

So your roommate had to work late and couldn't make it to the concert. You can share the encore with a FaceTime call. As the band takes the stage and starts playing one of her all-time favourite songs, just tap a button. And before the lead singer can belt out his first note, iPod touch switches to the back camera and to the sure-to-be-legendary performance. Another tap switches to the front camera and to you. Simple, fast, and fun.

Thanks to the Retina display, everything you see and do on iPod touch looks amazing. That's because the Retina display's pixel density is so high your eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. Which means images in games, movies and photos pop off the screen. Text in books, web pages, and email is crisp at any size. And everything is sharper. No wonder it's called "cutting edge."

diagram of a two cameras With a remarkable 960x640 resolution,
everything you see and do on iPod touch
looks even more incredibleMore wow per inch.

Behind the screen of iPod touch, there's some serious technology going on. By developing pixels a mere 78 micrometres wide, Apple engineers were able to pack four times the number of pixels into the same size screen found on earlier iPod touch models. This many pixels packed this close together - 326 per inch - make graphics and text look smooth and continuous at any size. Prepare to be glued to the screen.

LED backlighting.

The Retina display includes LED backlighting and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen for the best viewing and battery life possible. So you can focus on more important things. Like destroying aliens.

Because your iPod touch - and its built-in HD video camera - go with you everywhere, you're always ready to record when the moment strikes. And now you can do it in stunning high definition. An advanced backside illumination sensor delivers brilliant video in both bright and low-light settings. And when you're done shooting, you can edit and share your movie in just a few taps. With iPod touch, you're the only film crew you need.

diagram of iPod touch HD playback iPod touch lets you record,
edit and share stunning HD videoBuilt-in editing gives video a fun-tuning.

No need to wait until you're back at your computer to edit video. With basic editing built into iPod touch, you can get right down to business. Just drag to select start and end points on a filmstrip. Keep only the parts of the video you want, and turn it into something you and your friends will watch again and again.

Make mini blockbusters in just a few taps with iMovie on iPod touch.

Say you're on an epic road trip, and you want to create a video postcard of everything you've seen and done. Just use the iMovie app. Built for iPod touch, iMovie lets you combine and edit video clips, give them that extra something with dynamic themes and transitions, add music and photos, and share your finished movies with the world.

Make a movie. Starring you.

The next time you venture out on say, an amazing hike, don't just tell your friends about it. Show them. In addition to the high-definition camera on the back, iPod touch has a VGA-quality camera on the front, above the display, that lets you see yourself on the display while you record. It's perfect for turning the camera on yourself. No more guessing if you're in the frame or accidentally cropping yourself out altogether. So get ready for your close-up.

Shoot what you want. Share where you want.

Ever find yourself in the middle of typing an email when you see something that words just can't describe? Just launch the camera and record on the fly. Then upload your HD movie directly to YouTube. Or select some video from the Camera Roll and attach it to a new email message, ready to send. Posting to your Facebook page or blog is also just a tap away. And you can easily sync all the video you shoot on iPod touch back to your Mac or PC.

Point and shoot.

An awesome view. A decked-out cupcake. Your dog looking unbearably cute. If you want to take a quick photo to upload to your Facebook page, either camera on iPod touch can also capture stills. Just tap on the screen to adjust exposure. Then post to Facebook and let the comments begin.

Pioneering technology built into iPod touch is how you're able to flick, tap, and pinch. It's what makes a racing game feel so real. It's why you're able to see a friend crack up at your jokes from across the globe. And it's the reason iPod touch is the most incredible iPod you'll ever own.

Looks can be amazing.

iPod touch has an all-new design that makes it the thinnest, lightest, most amazing iPod touch ever. Holding one is all the proof you need. With its curved design, iPod touch is now a mere 7.2 millimetres thin. Its engineered glass front and stainless steel back feel sleek and smooth in your hand. Turn it on, and you're instantly blown away by the brilliant Retina display. iPod touch is the perfect combination of stunning design and revolutionary technology - brilliant from the outside in.

diagram of a two cameras iPod touch has two built-in cameras,
one on the front above the display
and one on the backRetina display. A blast from the future.

There are lots of reasons you won't want to take your eyes off the new iPod touch. The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display, for one. It packs 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution iPod screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers developed pixels so small - a mere 78 micrometers across - that the human eye can't distinguish individual pixels. Even though you can't see them, you'll definitely notice the difference. Text is remarkably sharp and graphics are incredibly vivid.

Apple A4 processor. More power to you.

The Apple A4 chip is behind, or rather underneath, all the fun you can have on iPod touch. Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mobile processor. With it, iPod touch can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and placing FaceTime calls. All while maximising battery life. And fun.

Gyro + Accelerometer. Smooth moves.

iPod touch just learned some new moves. It now includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, the gyro makes iPod touch capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience.

Two Cameras. Double the fun.

iPod touch captures video with two built-in cameras. It shoots amazing HD 720p video from the back camera. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful footage even in low-light settings. All while the built-in microphone records conversations, music, or any audio at the same time. And on the front of iPod touch, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls1 and shooting self-portraits. It's surprising how much fun can fit into something so small.

Multi-Touch. Control at your fingertips.

When you put your finger on iPod touch, how does it just start doing what you want it to do? It's a chain reaction, really. The Multi-Touch display layers a protective shield over a capacitive panel that senses your touch using electrical fields. It then transmits that information to the Retina display below it. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, zoom in and out on a section of a web page, and control game elements precisely.

#1: Sony Playstation3 160GB Slim Console

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

63 of 68 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all round media package., 30 Aug 2011 This review is from: Sony Playstation3 160GB Slim Console (Video Game) Some things not mentioned in the product description; This is a new CECH-3003A console which comes loaded with firmware 3.65 and will require an update to 3.70 if you intend to use PSN. The controller which comes with the console is a vibrating DualShock3 with six-axis, not the non-vibrating original controller the description wrongly states.

I've been a happy Xbox360 user for almost 6 years so after a few weeks, these are some of the pros and cons I've experienced compared to the 360:

Pros

- Much quieter than my 20gb Xbox 360 (I don't know how it compares to the newer 360's). Every now and then you'll hear the Blu-ray disc spin up momentarily but general noise is very low while playing.
- Wireless controller has a charging lead which connects into a usb port. Buying batteries/play and charge kit isn't cheap for the 360.
- Great TV on demand services including BBC iPLayer, 4od and ITV Player. BBC iPlayer is partically impressive, allowing much of its content to be played in HD if your connection to the internet is sufficiently fast enough. Dragon's Den looked brilliant.
- The system is generally much more open than the 360. You can use your own keyboard, mouse or bluetooth headset without having to buy Sony's own peripherals. You can also put a bigger hard drive in if you like, quick glance on amazon and you could upgrade to a 640gb hdd for around ?50, not bad at all!
- Had success importing video files to enjoy on my PS3. Firstly, external storage devices must be formatted to FAT32 which means all files must be below 4GB's in size. All the AVI and MP4 files I tried worked, sadly videos formatted in MKV format won't work. I also imported some of the AVCHD formatted HD video from my Sony camcorder and it looked stunning, great way to show videos to the family.
- Playstation Network is free. I've loved playing Xbox Live over the years and will continue to pay my subscription towards it, but it has to be said that Sony offering their service for nothing is very attractive if you're new to online gaming.
- Blu-ray player. Although their price has come down in recent times it's still a bargain to get a brilliant gaming platform and Blu-ray player at this price point.

Cons - Before I start I just want to say that all the problems I'm about to list are minimal at best and shouldn't be reason enough not to buy a PS3.

- Updating/Installing/Loading times can be significant. Getting my system up to date when I plugged the internet in took the best part of 30 minutes, maybe even slightly longer. When it then came to update Uncharted 2 this also took a long time compared a 360 title update which in my experience takes less than a minute. The first time you play a game can also take quite a long time to load as the console has to install a large amount of the game on the hard drive because transfering data straight from a Blu-ray on the fly is too slow. However I found that once this initial load had completed, in-game load times are much shorter.
- No Sky Player. Not an issue if you don't have sky, but this functionallity has been quite useful on the 360 for watching sky sports in a room other than the one we have the sky box in.
- Lovefilm is actually a bit naff. At the moment when you buy this PS3 you get 3 months unlimited (one disc at a time) membership to lovefilm with the ability to stream films to your PS3. Great right? I was initially quite excited about this until I actually tried it. For starters there isn't a great list of available titles. There are one or two I would watch but don't expect to find big blockbusters such as The Matrix, Dark Knight or Avatar. I tried watching Hurt Locker and Swordfish but both had very average picture quality and sound even when left to buffer for a while. This is a shame as the BBC iPlayer app showed that my connection can easily support watching programs in HD so I was quite disappointed with that.
- The charging cable for the controller is very short making it difficult to play and charge.
- Doesn't come with a headset, my 360 came with a wired headset.
- In my opinion the Xbox360's controller is superior. It's much chunkier than the PS3 controller and easier to hold; my hands tend to cramp much quicker with the PS3. I've also found the PS3's L2 and R2 triggers to be less responsive and accurate than the 360's, I'm looking to purchase the EA Sports Comfort Play Pack from amazon which adds thicker grips and triggers to the PS3 controller.

Thats all I can think of right now, I'll update if anything else comes to light. In short I'm very happy with my purchase and now that it costs the same as a new Xbox 360 I do think that it is a superior package.

35 of 38 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Good but shouldnt really of needed it, 25 Aug 2011 This review is from: Sony Playstation3 160GB Slim Console (Video Game) I have had a PlayStation before. An original CECH-C03 60gb with memory card readers and PS2 compatability.
Now this YLOD due to solder problems and as Sony wanted over 134 for a refurb unit this seemed like the better deal.

First of all this is a brand new CECH-3003A console that was just released. It is extremely light and quiet compared to my old PS3. It is missing the wifi indicator, eject indicator and has an etched sony logo on the front. It definitely is a cheaper look and feel than my old one, but is under half the price, and plays games/films the same!
Otherwise it is exactly the same as the previous slim model.

Loud disk eject compared to my old one, but thats the only big negative. (I have a PS2 still and I rarely used the memory card slots) Although more USB ports would have been useful

Hope it lasts more than 3 years of the previous machine.

Edit: Had a little play with it and noticed you can now with my Samsung LCD tv turn the console on and off with the TV remote via HDMI-CEC (anynet) Pretty cool! :)
Blu-ray only play in HD with HDMI cable not component but thats no trouble for me anyway! Just thought I would let you guy know.
Definitely runs quieter. Had it on all night redownloading all my data from PSN.
Swapped the drive out (which is a single platter 160gb thin 6.5mm drive) with a 640gb from my old PS3 and had to reformat the disk which is annoying. But works.
Comes with firmware 3.65 (June 2011) which at time of writing needs updating to 3.70 to play online.

#10: 100 CD SLEEVES

None of the seams have broken and they protect your CD/DVDs well with plenty of room inside. The plastic is thin but not too thin that the CD surface could get damaged in anyway. Will definatly buy again :) Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you?

12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: 4.0 out of 5 stars Quite sturdy for the price & what they are - Useful!, 20 Jan 2011 This review is from: 100 CD SLEEVES I bought these sleeves as we seemed to have loads of CDs with no covers or cases of any fashion and I wanted a cheap option to keeping them clean and relatively safe.

Upon researching the products available I settled upon these as being the cheapest option available that would do the job - as I had SO many CDs in need of a new home I didnt want to spend any more than I had to re-housing them, most of them weren't worth the extra expense (home recorded/backup discs etc). To be truthful I wasn't expecting much from these sleeves for the price I paid for them, believing them to probably be of an inferior material and flimsy, thin construction, but I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived, they were of a pleasing consistency and sturdy enough to provide a modicum of protection to discs that are "thrown about" in storage and generally filed all over the place!

Don't get me wrong, they're no substitute for a proper CD case but as a budget option, they are an excellent solution - so much so I went back and ordered another packet of them from the same seller a short while afterwards! I've had up to FOUR CDs in a sleeve without any problems or tearing at all and never had any trouble with bunching or sticking like some other reviewers reported - they're DEFINITELY large enough to hold CDs and DVDs - I don't know where those comments came from about size inadequacy!!?, all in all an excellent budget product and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :-)

#5: APPLE IPAD 2 TABLET (2nd Generation, 9.7 INCH) SCREEN PROTECTOR 6-IN-1 PACK PART OF THE QUBITS ACCESSORIES RANGE

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

37 of 38 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Very good product!, 11 May 2011 This review is from: APPLE IPAD 2 TABLET (2nd Generation, 9.7 INCH) SCREEN PROTECTOR 6-IN-1 PACK PART OF THE QUBITS ACCESSORIES RANGE For the money you can't go wrong! Also it is useful that there are 6 in the pack - which I definitely benefited from! The first thing I did when I got my new Ipad 2 yesterday was protect the screen with one of these covers. I did it wrong on my first attempt. I placed the screen protector on the screen without using the card to get rid of any bubbles as I went. Due to my bad application I couldn't get rid of all the bubbles. So I threw away the first cover I used.
So - how to do it right! The first thing you should do is punch out the two circles in the screen protector where the camera and button would be. Then remove the layer you are told to remove before application. Make sure there is no dust or anything on the screen. Then start at the bottom of the Ipad 2 where the button is as if you place it correctly around the button, the rest of it will be in the correct place. So starting at the bottom, stick the cover onto the screen, going in an upwards direction, using the small installation card as you go to flatten out the bubbles as you place the screen protector on the ipad working upwards. I would then get rid of any remaining bubbles before removing the layer that must be removed after application. After removing this final layer, a few more bubbles may be created. These can then be removed easily with the installation card. Once it is on, you don't notice it being there and doesn't affect screen sensitivity one bit! Excellent product - any problems you have with it are probably the result of your own bad application!

The item itself is a simple single slot device but has allowed me to access my new camera's SDHC card without draining the camera battery.

My existing card reader doesn't support SDHC so this little gem has made my life easier at a low cost which is something I'm very happy about. It works fine with my Sandisk 8GB SDHC card and I've also successfully tested it with a 64MB Integral SD card and the 32MB Canon MMC+ card that came with my camera. I'm using it succesfully on an iMac with USB 1 ports.

I can't comment on long term use but my initial thoughts are very favourable, especially for the price.

iPod touch has two built-in cameras, one on the front above the display and one on the back. The front camera has been tuned for FaceTime. It has just the right field of view and focal length to focus on your face at arm's length. So it always presents you in the best possible light. Which is especially handy when you're talking to someone who's more than just a friend.

So your friend is sick with a cold and can't make it to the concert. You can share the encore with a FaceTime call. As the band takes the stage and starts playing one of her all-time-favourite songs, just tap a button. And before the lead singer can belt out his first note, iPod touch switches to the back camera and to the sure-to-be-legendary performance. Another tap switches to the front camera and to you. Simple, fast, and fun.

The next great Internet meme could be yours. iPod touch and its HD video camera go with you everywhere, so you can capture every "What the?" moment that comes your way.

No need to wait until you're back at your computer to edit video. With basic editing built into iPod touch, you can get right down to business. Just drag to select start and end points on a filmstrip. Keep only the parts of the video you want, and turn it into something you and your friends will watch again and again.

iPod touch Camera iPod touch features a second camera on the back, which lets you shoot amazing 720p HD video.

You're on an epic road trip, and you want to create a video postcard of everything you've seen and done. Just use the iMovie app--pick it up on the App Store. Built for Multi-Touch, iMovie lets you combine and edit video clips, give them that extra something with dynamic themes, add music and photos, and share your finished movies with the world.

Maybe you're in the middle of texting a friend or browsing the web when you look up and suddenly see something that words just can't describe. Launch the camera and record on the fly. Then upload your HD movie directly to YouTube. Or select some video from the Camera Roll and attach it to a new email message, ready to send. Posting to your Facebook page or blog is also just a tap away.

A really cool piece of graffiti art. A cupcake too cute to eat. Your cat camouflaged by stuffed animals. If you want to take a quick photo to post on Twitter, either camera on iPod touch can also capture stills. Use grid lines, pinch-to-zoom gestures, and single-tap exposure lock to compose the perfect shot. Then tap to tweet at will.

Thanks to the Retina display, everything you see and do on iPod touch looks amazing. That's because the Retina display's pixel density is so high your eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. Which means images in games, movies, and photos pop off the screen. Text in books, web pages, and email is crisp at any size. And everything is sharper. No wonder it's called "cutting edge."

iPod touch Music When iPod came on the scene years ago, it was all about music--and it still is. Enjoy your favourite tunes, whether it's on headphones or wirelessly over AirPlay.

Behind the screen of iPod touch, there's some serious technology going on. By developing pixels a mere 78 micrometres wide, Apple engineers were able to pack four times the number of pixels into the same size screen found on earlier iPod touch models. This many pixels packed this close together--326 per inch--make graphics and text look smooth and continuous at any size. Prepare to be glued to the screen.

The Retina display includes LED backlighting and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen for the best viewing and battery life possible. So you can focus on more important things. Like destroying aliens.

With AirPlay, you can wirelessly stream what's on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your HD TV and speakers via Apple TV. That's gonna go over big.

You have great photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and some friends on your couch. Or you're in the middle of an epic action scene that could use a little more screen. Tap the AirPlay icon on your iOS 5 device from a specific app--Photos, Videos, or Safari, for example--and everything streams to your HD TV via your Apple TV.* Make sure both your device and Apple TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and the AirPlay icon appears automatically.

AirPlay isn't just for photos, movies, and apps. It's for your music, too. A song, an album, a favourite playlist--if it's on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can stream it to your home entertainment speakers via Apple TV. Because rocking out is always more fun in surround sound.

Conduct a symphony, chill with an indie band, or put on a rock concert--anywhere in the house. Connect any speaker you own to an AirPort Express. Or stream directly to AirPlay-enabled speakers from manufacturers like Denon, Marantz, B&W, JBL, and iHome. Your iOS device automatically detects your speakers: Just tap the ones you want to use. Since it all happens wirelessly, you have the freedom to cue the tunes from wherever you happen to be sitting, standing, or dancing.

Your workouts, your cram sessions, your commute, your late-night dance party of one, your ever-present need to drown out the noise around you. It's your music that keeps you going. And you know what respects that? iPod touch.

iPod touch Cover Flow Turn iPod touch on its side and glide through your music by album art with the flick of your finger.

What a song does for your ears, Cover Flow on iPod touch does for your eyes and fingers. Turn iPod touch on its side and glide through your music by album art with the flick of your finger. Tap an album cover to flip it over and display a track list. Tap again to start the music.

Songs in your library get a newfound rhythm thanks to Genius. When you're listening to a track you love and want to hear others that go great with it, let Genius take over. It finds complementary songs you own and makes a Genius playlist for you. Listen to the playlist right away, save it for later, or even refresh it and give it another go. Count on Genius to create a playlist you wouldn't have thought of yourself.

Genius acts as your personal DJ. All you do is sync iPod touch to iTunes, and Genius automatically searches your library to find songs that sound great together. Then it creates multiple mixes you'll love because it's entirely your music. Genius Mixes are like stations tuned precisely to your taste. They're a great way to rediscover songs you haven't heard in forever--and some you forgot you had.

The next time you're listening to your tunes, turn on Shake to Shuffle, then give iPod touch a shake to shuffle to a different song in your music library. It's just another way iPod touch keeps your music feeling fresh.

iPod touch Games It's hard to be bored when you have instant access to over 500,000 apps, including the latest in gaming titles.

So everything new appears everywhere--on your iPad, iPhone, Mac, or PC. You can also browse your purchase history and choose specific songs or albums to download again at no additional cost. Import new pictures to your computer from a digital camera, and iCloud sends copies over Wi-Fi to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. #4: Duronic HDS3 Mini 3 Port Gold HDMI Auto Switch PIANO BLACK 3x1 (3 way input 1 output HDMI Switcher)

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

35 of 36 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded expectations, 23 Jan 2011 This review is from: Duronic HDS3 Mini 3 Port Gold HDMI Auto Switch PIANO BLACK 3x1 (3 way input 1 output HDMI Switcher) I bought this switcher with some trepidation after reading various reviews for other switchers which had implied, in general for all brands, that I would likely experience some signal degradation. I am happy to report that this is NOT the case. The switcher itself is much smaller than I had expected, and very lightweight. I have the unit switching my SKY HD and PS3, and in all honesty the switcher far exceeds my expectations. A clever device with NO signal degredation and smart auto switch function. The LED light to show which device is currently in use is very bright, but as it is Blue (I didnt want the living room to look like a red light district or the wife would have complained) and hidden behind the telly this caused no problems. Well done Duronics!

Kindle (Wi-Fi) is a great choice if you already have a high-speed internet connection and wireless router setup at home, and do not want the added convenience of a 3G connection which enables you to download books anytime, anywhere on the go. If you do not have Wi-Fi setup in your home, Kindle 3G would be a better option.

Kindle 3G (Free 3G + Wi-Fi) is the easiest option because there is no wireless setup—you are ready to shop, purchase, and read right out of the box. Built-in Free 3G connectivity uses the same wireless signals that cell phones use, but there are no monthly fees or commitments—Amazon pays for Kindle’s 3G wireless connectivity. The added convenience of 3G enables you to download books anytime, anywhere on the go—without having to find a Wi-Fi hotspot connection. With wireless coverage in over 100 countries and territories, Kindle 3G is a great option for travelers. Check 3G coverage area.

Lose Yourself in Your Reading
The most elegant feature of a physical book is that it disappears while you're reading. Immersed in the author's world and ideas, you don't notice a book's glue, the stitching, or ink. Our top design objective is to make Kindle Keyboard disappear — just like a physical book — so you can get lost in your reading, not the technology.

Ergonomic Design
Kindle Keyboard is easy to hold and read. We designed it with long-form reading in mind. When reading for long periods of time, people naturally shift positions and often like to read with one hand. Kindle Keyboard's page-turning buttons are located on both sides, allowing you to read and turn pages from any position. The new soft-touch, textured back is comfortable to hold and never gets hot in your hands.

Never Gets Hot
Unlike a laptop, Kindle never gets hot so you can read comfortably as long as you like.

Simple Controls
Kindle Keyboard 3G has an easy-to-use 5-way controller for on-screen navigation for highlighting text or looking up words. For searching and note-taking, Kindle Keyboard features a physical keyboard.

Books in 60 Seconds with Built-In Wi-Fi
Get Books in as Little as 60 Seconds
Whispernet utilises Amazon's optimised technology plus Wi-Fi networks to enable you to wirelessly search, discover, and download content on the go. Your books, magazines and newspapers are delivered over Wi-Fi via Whispernet in less than 60 seconds. Wireless download times can vary based on file size.

Built-In Wi-Fi
Kindle Keyboard automatically detects nearby Wi-Fi networks at school, home, or your favourite café. At a hotel or café that requires a password? Simply enter the password and connect to the network. Once you have added a Wi-Fi network, Kindle Keyboard will automatically connect to that network the next time you're near the hotspot.

Latest Generation E Ink
Kindle Keyboard uses E Ink Pearl – the latest generation of E Ink technology available – to deliver clear, crisp text you can read without eye strain.

How Electronic Ink Works
Electronic ink uses actual ink particles to create crisp, print-like text similar to what you see in a physical book. Kindle Keyboard uses proprietary, hand-built fonts to take advantage of the special characteristics of the ink to make letters appear clear and sharp.

Reads Like Real Paper, Even in Bright Sunlight
Because Kindle Keyboard's electronic display uses E Ink, it looks and reads like real paper. Kindle Keyboard’s screen reflects light like ordinary paper and uses no backlighting, so you can read as easily in bright sunlight as in your living room.

Adjustable Text Sizes, Font Choices
Kindle Keyboard has eight adjustable font sizes to suit your reading preference. You can increase the text size of your favourite books, magazines and newspapers with the push of a button. If your eyes tire, simply increase the font size and continue reading comfortably. Kindle Keyboard also has three font styles to choose from – all optimised and hand-tuned to provide the best reading experience.

Custom Fonts
Kindle Keyboard 3G uses hand-built, custom fonts and font-hinting to make words and letters more crisp, clear, and natural-looking. Font hints are instructions, written as code, that control points on a font character's line, improving legibility at small font sizes where few pixels are available. Hinting is a mix of aesthetic judgments and complicated technical strategies. We've designed our proprietary font-hinting to optimise specifically for the special characteristics of electronic ink.

Fast Page Turns
Kindle Keyboard has fast page turns. We’ve done this by fine-tuning Kindle Keyboard’s proprietary waveform, the series of electronic pulses that move black and white electronic ink particles to achieve an optimal display of images and text.

Rotate Between Portrait and Landscape Mode
Manually rotate the display from portrait to landscape to view maps, graphs, tables and Web pages.

Real Page Numbers
Easily reference and cite passages or read alongside others in a book club or class with real page numbers that correspond to a book’s print edition. We’ve added real page numbers to tens of thousands of Kindle books, including the top 100 bestselling books in the Kindle Store with matching print editions. Simply press the “Menu” button while reading to display page numbers.

Support for Non-Latin Characters
Kindle Keyboard can display Cyrillic (such as Russian), Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean characters in addition to Latin and Greek scripts for certain file types. To view your personal documents with non-Latin characters on your Kindle, send your file as a Microsoft Word document (DOC) attachment to your Kindle's e-mail address ("name"@free.kindle.com). The file will be converted to Kindle format and sent to your Kindle via the Wi-Fi connection and also to the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.com account at no charge. See more details about Kindle’s Personal Document Service via Whispernet here. Loading TXT files containing non-Latin characters over USB is currently not supported as some characters may not display properly.

Full Image Zoom
Images and photos display crisply on Kindle Keyboard and can be zoomed to the full size of the screen.

Carry and Read Your Personal Documents
Kindle Keyboard makes it easy to take your personal documents with you, eliminating the need to print. You and your approved contacts can e-mail documents – including Word, PDF and more - directly to your Kindle and read them in Kindle format. Your personal documents will be stored in your Kindle library on Amazon and ready to download conveniently anywhere at any time. You can add notes, highlights and bookmarks, which are automatically synchronized across devices along with the last page you read using our Whispersync technology.
You can read your PDFs in their native format, view them in landscape mode, or zoom in up to 300% to view small print and detailed tables and graphics. You can also convert your PDF document to the Kindle format so that it reflows like a regular Kindle book.

Built-In Dictionary with Instant Lookup
Never get caught without a dictionary. Kindle Keyboard includes The Oxford Dictionary of English with over 250,000 entries and definitions for free. Kindle Keyboard lets you instantly lookup the definition without ever leaving the book – simply move the cursor to the word and the definition will automatically display at the bottom of the screen.

Search Wikipedia and the Web
Kindle Keyboard makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. Just enter a word or phrase and Kindle will search every instance across your Kindle library, in the Kindle Store, on Wikipedia, or the Web using Google search.

Bookmarks and Annotations
By using the QWERTY keyboard, you can add annotations to text, just like you might write in the margins of a book. And because it is digital, you can edit, delete, and export your notes. You can highlight and clip key passages and bookmark pages for future use. You'll never need to bookmark your last place in the book, because Kindle remembers for you and always opens to the last page you read.

Share Meaningful Passages
Share your passion for books and reading with friends, family, and other readers around the world by posting meaningful passages to social networks like Facebook and Twitter directly from Kindle, without leaving the page. Want to post or tweet about a great new title or newspaper article? When you highlight or create a note in your book, you can easily share it with your social network. Help your network of family and friends discover new authors and books.

Public Notes

The experimental category represents features we are still working on to enhance the Kindle experience even further. Try them out and let us know what you think.

Read-to-Me
With the Text-to-Speech feature, Kindle Keyboard can read English newspapers, magazines, blogs, and books out loud to you, unless the book's rights holder made the feature unavailable. You can switch back and forth between reading and listening, and your spot is automatically saved. Pages automatically turn while the content is being read, so you can listen hands-free. You can choose from both male and female voices which can be sped up or slowed down to suit your preference. In the middle of a great story or article but have to jump in the car? Simply turn on Text-to-Speech and listen on the go.

Voice Guide
New text-to-speech enabled menus allow customers to navigate Kindle Keyboard without having to read menu options. In addition to listening to books aloud, users now have the option of listening to content listings on the home screen, item descriptions, and all menu options. To turn Voice Guide on or off, press the Menu button from your Home screen. Select Settings and then press Next Page to go to Page 2 of Settings. Select "turn on" or "turn off" next to the Voice Guide setting.

New WebKit-Based Browser
Kindle Keyboard's features an experimental web browser based on WebKit to provide a better web browsing experience. Now it's easier than ever to find the information you're looking for right from your Kindle. Experimental web browsing is free to use over Wi-Fi.

Listen to Music & Podcasts
Transfer MP3 files to Kindle Keyboard to play as background music while you read. You can quickly and easily transfer MP3 files via USB by connecting Kindle Keyboard to your computer.
